The Pasco Project, a 121 MW dual-fueled, combined-cycle, cogeneration project located in Dade City, Florida, commenced commercial operations in July 1993. The Project is owned by Pasco Cogen, Ltd., in which Atlantic Power indirectly holds a 100% partnership interest.
Electrical output of the Project is sold to Tampa Electric Company under a tolling agreement that expires in 2018. Under the tolling agreement, the Project is not exposed to fuel price risk, as Tampa Electric provides natural gas when it calls on the Project for electrical energy.
A subsidiary of Caithness Energy operates and manages the plant on Atlantic Power's behalf.
In 2006, Pasco implemented upgrades to its combustion turbines, increasing output and efficiency.
